Senior Software Verification Engineer

Senior Software Verification Engineer (Software Testing, Automation, UNIX, Python, Perl, Ruby) is required to join our consultancy client in the East of Scotland. The right candidate will join a Research and Development team to perform the test and design verification of software applications.

You must have previous experience defining and executing test cases, have good knowledge of Risk based testing approaches, experience in the debugging of software and be aware of the precise documentation of performed tests, complying with regulatory standards. You will also have experience of test configuration control, be familiar with scripting languages such as preferably Python, Ruby, Perl and ideally have knowledge of Automated User Interface testing.

Essential:

Strong experience in software testing, performing manual and automated testing using scripting and/or programming techniques (ideally Python)
Strong experience in software development or software testing, including coding in high-level programming languages and scripting languages, for example Python, Perl or Ruby.
Proven experience in risk-based test analysis and specification
Experience of performing investigation of automated test failures to identify changes required to existing scripts
Proficiency in using integrated development environments, version control systems and bug reporting tools.
Proficiency in Agile methodologies and ideally Behavioural Driven Development, Specification by Example, Gherkin or Behave tools
Good computer skills for installing MS Windows and Linux systems, and use of MS Office applications.
Ability to adhere to software development life cycle and software configuration management and to follow documented processes.

In addition you must have excellent communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team.
