Full Stack Java Software Engineer / Javascript Developer - 3 Month Contract


£375 a day

Experienced Full Stack Software Engineers are required to join an exciting new startup that provides a safe, secure and sovereign data platform, with the ability to undertake an analysis of private data with the consent of the data owners.You will be responsible for the design and development of software solutions across all products and services and also participate in Engineering Sprint Teams, contributing effectively to all activities as required by the team. Sprint Participation requires:Actively contribute to backlog refinement and sprint planning by ensuring that stories and tasks are well defined, and story point estimates are accurate and consistent.Completion of allocated tasks to meet the acceptance criteria of the story and the appropriate quality standards, including security requirements. Completion includes appropriate testing and documentation.Thorough review of pull requests of team members’ work against acceptance criteria and appropriate quality standards.Reporting progress in daily scrum meetings, and escalating issues that prevent progress in a timely manner. Confirm understanding of daily task allocation.Accurate reporting of actual time spent on sprint tasks.Participation in Sprint DemosOpen and honest retrospective assessment of activities in the sprint. Suggest process changes for continuous improvement of sprint efficiency and quality and security of sprint deliverables.We are recruiting a number of Engineers and require full stack Java Software Engineers or Full-stack Javascript Developers who offer skills and experience in many of the following areas: Java development with the Spring framework. - Use of Spring Boot to create RESTful microservicesDesign and effective use of RESTful APIs.Architecture and design of distributed, data-intensive, highly available cloud-native systems.Distributed Version Control in a commercial environment (Git).Agile software development processes.Build automation with Gradle (or Maven)Web UI development skills using a range of modern frameworks. - ReactJS, Angular, JQuery, Knockout & D3Consuming RESTful JSON web servicesUse of git as distributed VCS and code review toolDesirable skills: Familiarity with some of the following skills will be beneficial:Familiarity with Linux operating systems and scripting languages (bash, python, groovy, kotlin)Configuration management tools (Ansible)Containerisation (Docker)Orchestration (Rancher, Kubernetes)Build and Test Automation tools (TeamCity, Jenkins)This role is based in Bath with the option of home working / remote working 2 days per week.Job Type: ContractSalary: £375.00 /day
