AWS Engineer with experience within DevOps, Amazon Web Services and AWS certification for Soho based company going through major programme of technical change and transformation. The role will see you provide analysis, design, build, administration, monitoring & support of AWS services being used across the programme, during all phases and ultimately to production Using best practices to ensure that a culture of DevOps is adopted regarding maintainability, automation and efficiency.

The role:
The AWS Engineer role sits within the Infrastructure & Environments team, working closely with the Infrastructure & Environments Lead. The team is split into 2 with a larger crossover, the AWS team and the DevOps team. You will:

produce documentation that allows other engineers & developers to operate and maintain the infrastructure & systems being supported, developed or enhanced
undertake detailed analysis and document detailed specifications
translate and facilitate requirements gathering, translating and prioritisation
challenge existing processes and ways of working, research and suggest new tools and techniques
be a champion of AWS, cloud technologies, configuration management, automation and versioning.
document, review and follow structured processes and procedures, including configuration management, version control, coding, testing and documentation standards, highlighting opportunities for improvements
build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, key business users, colleagues and external suppliers in order to provide a professional customer service approach
develop and maintain expertise in best practice development methodologies and techniques

Skills & experience
The AWS Engineer role requires a self-motivated individual combining a high degree of technical skill with a can-do attitude. With a flexible approach, strong customer service focus, excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan time effectively.

AWS certified developer /AWS certified architect / AWS certified sysops administrator - associate level
5 year’s minimum experience as a system administrator with either windows or linux background
2-3 year's + cloud/AWS experience
Knowledge of traditional infrastructure layers such as Network, compute and storage systems and virtualisation.
Good knowledge of Cloudformation scripting, JSON or YML (preferable)
Strong administration skills in Linux & Windows
Broad LAN/WAN and Network Security knowledge (IPS, IDS, VLANs, subnets, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Routing, ACLs and VPN’s, MPLS, Direct Connect etc)
Monitoring: Capacity management tools, Infrastructure Monitoring, reporting/alerting and billing management. (Nagios, Zabbix etc)
